Emporio Armani store

Launched in 1981 as a diffusion line of Giorgio Armani, it’s actually one of many, Emporio Armani since grown into a forward style of its own, offering a full seasonal wardrobe for men and women. The line has numerous branded retail spaces across the planet, and it recently raised its retail profile dramatically in Tokyo with a prestigious new retail space in Ginza, one of the city’s upscale shopping zones. The store occupies no less than 900 sqm. (9,688 sq.ft.) spread across three floors of newly built, eleven-storey structure on Miyuki dori, one of the area’s few tree-lined shopping arteries, and features an interior design by designer Giorgio Armani and his in-house design team in Milan. Needless to say, this is Emporio Armani‘s biggest outpost in Japan. The interior design takes cues from the Emporio Armani flagship store on the Lombard capital’s Via Manzoni, featuring walls and shelves clad in natural cement and eco-resin flooring, and a predominant greige colour palette.

Large floor-to-ceiling windows allow passers-by ample peeks of the ground floor which is furnished with understated yet elegant glass-covered displays and shelving units, while matching grey carpets add a soft, homey touch to the settings. Interestingly, large LED screens have been attached on the ceiling, allowing for visual changes according to the concept or season. The ground floor presents Emporio Armani‘s men’s and women’s accessories, watches, and jewellery pieces. In a nook of the ground floor, shoppers can fully recharge at the Emporio Armani Caffè. The eye-catching, spiralling staircase which leads to the first floor, comprises of chunky, seemingly stacked steps, and is designed by designer Giorgio Armani himself. Here, in a similar setting, the women’s apparel collection is showcased, while the store’s top floor is home to the full men’s collection, including accesories, shoes and bags. © superfuture
