THE ATTICO shop-in-shop

It’s no secret that in the past decade, Seoul has seen a meteoric rise as a luxury shopping destination, and the recent arrival in town of THE ATTICO, is indicative that we’ve yet to see the end of this ongoing trend. The niche Milan-based womenswear brand, headed by designers and modern-day it girls Giorgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio, has secured a unit perched on the third floor of Luxury Hall East, one of The Galleria department store’s two buildings in the city’s plush Apgujeong shopping district. The opening of this THE ATTICO‘s shop-in-shop is not only hot on the heels of its very first standalone store on Ibiza, an event we’ve talked about in a previous post, but also the very first boutique in all of Asia. Similar to the Balearic retail space, dubbed The Bathroom, this one is themed The Library.

Designed in-house, the settings effortlessly live up to the theme, and are captured by dark ribbed wood panels lining the walls and built-in bookcases, and Brutalist concrete surfaces. Furnishings comprise stainless steel displays, soft green carpets, low-stitched ottomans, and vintage Alky armchairs by Italian interior and industrial designer Giancarlo Piretti. A wide range of books are used as props, backing up the design theme. The meticulously calibrated layering of materials, styles and hues oozes sophistication and aims to elevate the shopping experience. The entrance of the retail space, marked by a striking floor-to-ceiling panel of green onyx, signals the presence of THE ATTICO‘s shop-in-shop from afar.
